Training Schedule Announced for Poll Personnel Ahead of General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly 2024
Srinagar, September 12, 2024 – The District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate), Srinagar, has issued an important notification regarding the training of poll personnel in preparation for the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly, scheduled for 2024. In accordance with the Election Commission of India’s guidelines (ECI/PN/128/2024, dated 16-08-2024), the second phase of training for Gazetted and Non-Gazetted employees, whose services will be required during the elections, will commence from September 13, 2024.
The training schedule has been arranged for various departments and Assembly constituencies in Srinagar District, and a detailed list of participants is provided in Annexure-A, enclosed with the notification. All listed employees are expected to attend the training sessions as per the designated date, time, and venue.

To ensure seamless coordination and participation, Nodal Officers Riyaz Ahmad Shah (JKAS) and Abdul Hamid Fani will oversee the training program. These officers will also be responsible for maintaining attendance records and ensuring that all employees are adequately trained.
The training is crucial as the employees will be assigned duties as Presiding or Polling Officials for the election scheduled to take place on September 25, 2024. Departmental heads have been instructed to ensure their staff’s participation, with any negligence subject to accountability under the Election Commission’s guidelines.
