J&K Government Refers 575 Lecturer Vacancies to JKPSC for Advertisement

Srinagar/Jammu, November 19, 2024 – The Jammu and Kashmir Government has formally referred 575 Lecturer vacancies in the School Education Department to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for direct recruitment. This move marks a significant step in strengthening the teaching faculty across various subjects in the Union Territory.

In a communication issued by the School Education Department (Human Resource Management Section), the referral includes a detailed breakdown of vacancies across various categories and subjects, ensuring fair representation through reservation policies.   • Reserved Backward Areas (RBA): 53
  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 51
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST-1): 61
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST-2): 56
  • ALC (Line of Actual Control): 26
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 42
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 48

In addition, 4% horizontal reservation has been allotted for physically challenged individuals, covering categories like low vision, one arm, one leg, and other disabilities in line with Government Order No. 59-JK(SWD) of 2021.

Subject-Wise Distribution

The Lecturer positions span across diverse disciplines, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Botany, Zoology, and more. The largest allocations are for Mathematics (54), Botany (52), and Chemistry (51).

Eligibility Criteria
