JKPSC VAS Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the JKPSC VAS recruitment must meet the following requirements:

  • Domicile: Must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H) from a recognized university is mandatory.
  • Age Limit (as on 1st January 2024):
    • Open Merit (OM): 40 years
    • Reserved Categories (RBA/ST/EWS/ALC): 43 years
    • Physically Challenged (PHC): 42 years
    • In-Service/Government Employees: 40 years

JKPSC VAS Application Process

The JKPSC VAS recruitment application process is conducted online. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

  1. Update One-Time Registration: Candidates must update their One-Time Registration (OTR) profile on the JKPSC portal before starting the application.
  2. Filling the Application Form:
    • Visit the official JKPSC website: JKPSC Online Portal
    • Register/login to your OTR profile.
    • Fill in all the necessary details carefully.
  3. Upload Required Documents:
    • Date of Birth Certificate (Matriculation Certificate)
    • Domicile Certificate
    • Category Certificate (if applicable)
    • B.V.Sc. & A.H Degree Certificate and consolidated mark sheets
    • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  4. Application Fee:
    • General Category: ₹1200
    • Reserved Category: ₹700
    • PHC Candidates: Exempted

JKPSC VAS Selection Process

The selection for the post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon will be based on a written test, as outlined by SRO 547 dated 10.12.2018. Here’s what candidates should know about the exam:

  • Exam Pattern:
    • Type: OMR-based, Objective Type (MCQs)
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Total Questions: 120 MCQs, each carrying 1 mark

    • Negative Marking: A penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

JKPSC VAS Reservation Policy

Candidates claiming reservations under any category must possess a valid certificate issued before the cut-off date. The genuineness of the category certificates will be verified by the appointing authority. In case a candidate is found using a false certificate, they will be debarred from JKPSC examinations, in addition to other legal consequences.
