Eligibility Criteria for NICL Assistant 2024

1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Proficiency in the regional language of the state or union territory they are applying for is mandatory.

2. Age Limit (as of 1st October 2024)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • PwD: 10 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: as per government guidelines

3. Nationality

  • Indian citizens, as well as nationals from Nepal, Bhutan, and other specified categories as outlined in the official notification, are eligible.

NICL Assistant Selection Process 2024

The selection process includes three stages:

1. Phase I – Preliminary Examination

  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Sections:
    • English Language – 30 questions, 30 marks
    • Reasoning Ability – 35 questions, 35 marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude – 35 questions, 35 marks

2. Phase II – Main Examination

  • Duration: 120 minutes
  • Sections:
    • Reasoning – 40 questions, 40 marks
    • English Language – 40 questions, 40 marks
    • Numerical Ability – 40 questions, 40 marks
    • General Awareness – 40 questions, 40 marks
    • Computer Knowledge – 40 questions, 40 marks

3. Regional Language Test

  • Candidates who qualify in the Mains will be tested on their regional language proficiency for the state/UT they applied for.

Note: Only candidates who qualify in each stage will progress to the next.
